Thoughts on social structures

What perhaps most people desire is a sense of purpose, whether it be small or grand. Achievable or not, that point of direction gives a person tremendous force. Circumstances, circumstances the single largest cause of making things unachievable, is it luck? There is oppression, poverty and misery for the many - freedom, riches and opportunity for the few. There have always been the ones oppressing and the ones oppressed. Social structures are designed for this particular purpose; to justify oppression. Form of government doesn’t matter whether it be democracy, whether it be monarchy, totalitarianism or under the rule of a dictator. Social structures will remain, only with the appearance of another with the similar structure but different actors. The struggle between the oppressed and the oppressors will always be fought. A very concrete example it's not too long ago that the proletarian struggle was brought about as a result of prolonged and extensive denial of rights to the worker. Another example if you will the French Revolution, when the anger of the starving people grew so strong and famously blood thirsty that even the Royal family was beheaded. One king was soon changed to another; Napoleon, eventually resulting in the one of many French Republics (actors changed in the social structure). A social structure will only work for as long as people see a meaning of it all (legitimacy). Of course, people can go about being quite discontent without taking action. There will always be those few who will take action and pay the consequences. But it is interesting when a significant amount of people rise up to break the social contract they have with their government: often resulting in the change of goverment. The people does not exist for the government, the government exists for the people. Democracy allows this struggle by peaceful means, thus being the best form of governance. In a democracy every election is a place of fierce battle for political power; the control of the state machinery.

It’s too utopian to think of Anarchism, or Anarcho-socialism as social structures can hardly be eradicated. However equality in health care, social security and education are things to strive for. Give the people the chance to fairly by their own merit to do well in these social structures. So we can at least somehow justify these structures through the means of equal opportunity (Well atleast the furthest it is possible).
